If you choose an SMS category, we record your phone number, the selected category, the consent timestamp, the page where you opted in, the disclosure version, your browser user agent, and your IP address where available.

How we use information

We use your information to respond to your inquiry, share relevant resources you request, and send SMS messages only for the categories you selected. We do not use it for eligibility decisions, program applications, or sales calls.

SMS communications

SMS messages are sent only to people who check a consent box. The available categories are:

• Account Notifications: Requested checklists, subscription confirmations, communication preference updates, opt-in and opt-out confirmations, and replies to HELP requests. Frequency: message frequency varies based on account activity.
• Marketing Messages: College financial assistance articles, funding resources, featured planning tools, and newly published website content. Frequency: generally up to 4 messages per month.

Mobile opt-in information

Mobile opt-in data, SMS consent, and phone numbers collected for SMS purposes will not be sold, shared, rented, released, or transferred to third parties for marketing, lead generation, or promotional purposes.

This includes grant brokers, funding organizations, lead aggregators, and third-party marketers. Any courtesy resource assistance that would require contacting a third party on your behalf would require your separate, explicit consent for that specific request, and is never created by SMS consent.

Children's privacy

Our website is intended for users 13 and older and SMS messages are intended for users 18 and older or with guardian permission. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
